DICAr is among the 180 Italian departments selected and financed by the Ministry of University and Research (MIUR) for the period 2023-2027 as part of the ‘Departments of Excellence’ initiative, which rewards departments that stand out for the quality of the research they produce and finances specific development projects.

The DICAr has submitted to the MIUR the DORIAN project (Digital modelling to support the design of safe, sustainable and resilient environments) which aims to improve the quality of the DICAr through 3 integrated strategies

expand current excellence and expertise by leveraging multidisciplinarity, one of DICAr’s strengths;
adopting as a methodological approach the synergy between reality (also represented through a physical or experimental model, laboratory and/or field measurements, actions towards companies and territorial bodies) and its digital simulation (virtual, mathematical, numerical project and/or model in a three-dimensional and immersive environment);
address current issues and global challenges in line with those proposed by the UN 2030 Agenda, with particular reference to sustainability, resilience and security in a unified and trans-disciplinary approach.
